Honeywell 350 Review
Humidification is offered by the Honeywell 350. We enjoyed the Honeywell 350 for its ease of cleaning, but found that it was and did not supply some of the characteristics contained in our ultrasonic humidifier competitors that were tested.
As the only evaporative design humidifier in our examining group, it was not difficult to believe that the Honeywell 350 mightn't have the ability to compete with the high tech ultrasonic units during our testing. Astonishingly, the operation of the Honeywell 350 place it solidly at the center of the bunch.
Earning a score of 10 of 8 for cleaning, we found the Honeywell 350 to be exceptionally low care. Apart from wiping the foundation clean and occasionally refilling the water tank, there actually was not much else worry about on a day to day basis. As an extra incentive, the directions say that tank and the foundation are dishwasher safe. Because it was trouble-free, the Honeywell earned the maximum score for Ease of Cleaning out of all the units we tested.
It includes a decal that says that mist is not going to be observable during use, and they're correct. It was hopeless to see the wetness being shoved out of the unit, but we could sense the wetness by making our hand over the fan for several seconds. Despite the invisibility of the wetness, our humidity testing demonstrated that humidifiers like the Crane Drop Contour or Duux Ultrasonic could not increase the humidity efficiently than the Honeywell. For parents concerned about water damage from mist droplets on flooring or furniture, this humidifier has a clear edge in restricting that option.
The fundamental assumption of operation for an evaporative humidifier would be to push air through a wicking filter. During in-house testing, we really discovered the Honeywell's fan sound at the lowest setting to be soothing and believed that some parents may value the extra "white noise" advantage. Yet, at high and moderate speeds, we were excited about the additional sound contribution while attempting to sleep.
We found that the wick was fully saturated with water and prepared to be used after, it was hard to place the fan top over it because the wick would not hold its kind and kept getting squished out of place. Additionally, the Honeywell needed additional open space all around it so the air intake wouldn't be obstructed and had the biggest footprint of our humidifiers.
We could not fit it on a night stand that is normal without choosing everything else away, because the carpeting would obstruct the ports nor could we place it on our carpeted flooring. This unit would work best on a counter with lots of additional space, or a hard flooring. Eventually, we located the UV light attribute designed to reduce viruses and bacteria to be nonessential. Most tap water is treated to remove germs that were bad, and water is just treated by the place of the light. Although all the water from the tank will pass under the UV light we were worried about the filter sitting in the foundation for days after UV light treatment and then soaking up the chance of water.
Because of the big footprint, the Honeywell would be greatest in a room with tons of counter space, or a room where you could put it on a hard flooring that is long-lasting. If sound is not an issue for you and you're most worried about cleaning that is simple, this is the humidifier for you.
At around $80, the Honeywell 350 is neither the cheapest nor the priciest humidifier of our group, in buying this humidifier One extra thought is the added price of wicking filters that'll set you back about $10 for each replacement. We recommend assessing the filter during weekly cleaning to try to find dryness and excessive discoloration. The before and after images below demonstrate how the filter altered over about two weeks during nightly use. The image on the right is after fourteen days of use; mineral deposit discoloration beginning to appear on top of the filter can be seen by you.
The Honeywell 350 is an excellent choice should you be searching for an evaporative-design humidifier to remove white dust generation and prevent the dampness that can collect on surfaces with an ultrasonic humidifier. Yet, for baby's room, we found this humidifier did not have the characteristics that its substantial size was perfect for fitting on a night stand or bureau and that we craved.
